This amazing bookmarking site has more than 11 million visitors per month and around 1.3 million daily visitors. Also, one of the interesting facts about Pinterest is that it ranks thirds after Facebook and Tumblr for time spent on social media site. Marketers are seeing 5% of total website traffic being generated from Pinterest which is more than combined traffic of Linkedin, YouTube and Google Plus.
Many brands in travel industry have become the leader on the wall of fame.
Since Pinterest has made a big splash in social media space Intercontinental Hotels has implemented Pinterest strategy.

Not only brands in hospitality sector have been using Pinterest for their brand awareness but also airlines and airports have joined the race to attract lot of eye-balls. For example, BMI airlines has used a unique strategy of brand promotion. Once travel consumer repins any of his favorite images, he will automatically become part of lottery to win free BMI flight tickets.
This campaign launched by BMI was a huge success. It ran for around 7 weeks resulting in more than 500k social media impressions. In just two weeks, brand received more than 3000 entries.
